The Brownie Lady Loves to Make People Happy!
Why does Teresa Rogers bake brownies? Quite simply: to make people happy. It started 15 years ago as a treat for her hardworking colleagues at VCU Health System (she’s a full-time registered nurse!). By 2008, her happiness crusade had led to a business.
Since then, Teresa has baked, handwrapped and sold thousands of brownies each year. (That’s a lot of happiness!) Her 10 varieties of fudgy treats have replaced cakes at weddings, been to the Governor’s Mansion twice and been shipped around the world, including to soldiers in Afghanistan.
Teresa has also donated hundreds of her brownies to good causes. That includes fundraisers for leukemia and breast cancer research and Boy Scout troops, underprivileged youth, a mother/daughter luncheon at the YWCA, the Hospital Hospitality House, and Family Lifeline—to name a few. A portion of her sales also pays for three women and/or men to have a mammogram each year (One of Teresa’s close friends died of breast cancer).
If you don’t want to order online or by phone, you can also find The Brownie Lady’s baked goodies at Richmond’s Alamo BBQ, Yellow Umbrella Provisions and the MKT@25TH Churchill.
Try one of Teresa’s brownies, cookies, cakes or breads soon and be the next person Teresa makes happy!
